Load Testing of Electric & Manual Chain Hoists

Meerholz Canada has recognized the Material Handling Industry’s need for a program to Load Test & Certify Electric, Manual Chain Hoists & Lever Pullers.

Too often the need to maintain, service and test smaller units are overlooked. Being the workhorses of the industry they attract little interest until they become inoperable or they fail.

The risk factor of these units accidentally failing and causing accidents are increased significantly since the Operators are situated right next to a load when operating the units.

Meerholz Canada is the only company in Northern BC with a Hydraulic Hoist Test Stand.
This Unit was designed & manufactured to simulate “live” load testing on Hoists, Slings, Turfers & Lever Pullers.

It is capable of measuring accurate performance during inspection or after repair work was done. With our unit we can apply loads from ¼ to 20 ton for both Static (testing units under their own power) & dynamic (testing units with an external source) testing to 125% of its rated capacity.

LOAD TESTING OF OVERHEAD CRANES

Meerholz Canada has had many years of experience in providing our Customers with Certified Static & Operational load testing services. Before we perform a load test we do a pre-inspection to ensure the safe operation of the unit. Weights available for load testing include portable concrete and steel weights. Water weight rentals available upon request.

STATIC LOAD TEST

This is testing a unit with an outside source i.e.; concrete or metal, to verify the structural and mechanical integrity of the hoist.

OPERATIONAL LOAD TEST

This is performing a test at 125% of the equipments rated capacity using the actual hoist to test the following functions: hoisting and lowering of the load, hoist brake hold, trolley and bridge operations.
